GPL to Discontinue hoopla Service

Gretna Public Library takes its fiscal responsibility from its taxpayer-funding very seriously and does its best to ensure sustainable services for all patrons. In response to the growing demand for digital materials, we have conducted a comprehensive review of digital borrowing trends and performed a budget analysis.

As a result of this analysis and close consideration, we will focus our funding on the continued development of our robust digital collections within the Libby app, which includes access to digital books, audiobooks, and eMagazines. We will also discontinue the hoopla service on January 30, 2026.

Please be sure to explore eBooks, audiobooks, and magazines through the Libby app. Additionally, patrons are invited to explore other digital resources available through GPL, such as Kanopy.

We appreciate your understanding and want to assure you that GPL’s commitment to providing excellent digital services remains a priority.
