Introducing GretnaHub

A New Community Resource

The Gretna Public Library proudly announces its new community resource: GretnaHub!

At the core of this site is the new LocalHop-powered events calendar. This calendar is highly-flexible while maintaining ease-of-use. If you’re looking for events around Gretna, NE, then GretnaHub.org is the place to start.

Answering a Need

Ever since both The Gretna Guide and The Gretna Breeze newspapers ended their publications, there hasn’t been a resource to find where all the yard, estate, or garage sales are around town.

Now you can submit your sale to GretnaHub under the category “Yard/Estate Sales.”

We will organize them into neighborhoods within the sales’ titles, but this may change over time. This is a completely new category to LocalHop that they added because we requested it. This means that Gretna is the first LocalHop community to share a garage sale! It’s this month’s St. Patrick Garage Sale.

Share Your Community Events

Besides sharing your garage sales, you can fill out a form to include your event on GretnaHub calendar in the submit section.

With Gretna continuing to grow greater and greater, it’s a challenge to seek out and find everything that’s going on around town. Crowd-sourcing events helps ensure that nothing is missed. The librarians will also add, if possible, your online resource to their 30+ resources that they regularly check.

Discover More of Gretna

Because Gretna is a very busy community, we chose not to add every single event going on around town. But we included a discover resource where you can find other organizations’ events if they have an online event calendar, or their main website if they don’t.

Whether you’ve been a longtime resident of Gretna, or you’re considering a move here, the Discover section will be an excellent place to start getting to know this great community.

After you check out the organizations listed, and feel like we have missed one, then please contact us at gretnahub@gmail.com. We’ll look into it and add it ASAP.

Join GretnaHub

One of the best features of GretnaHub is that organizations and businesses may join and become part of it. Organizations may fill out the form to join, and then a librarian will vet the group before approving them. After they join, they will be able to add events directly to the calendar.

Your organization will have its own LocalHop page where you can brag about your business and share important social media links. Site visitors will know that your business has the Gretna community at its heart. There’s also the option to host a free LocalHop calendar on your website!

GretnaHub: Where Community Grows

As Gretna the city quickly grows, we want its special community spirit to keep pace. For lifelong residents, GretnaHub can give them a chance to meet new community members and still feel centered. People move to Gretna for all sorts of reasons, and we want to welcome them and show them that they are now a part of a very special place.
