New Jigsaw Puzzle Collection

Introducing our newest addition to GPL’s Library of Things: jigsaw puzzles!

You will find the puzzle collection at the Main Library to the right of the Board Game collection.

Why Jigsaw Puzzles?

Besides their being fun, there are some other great reasons to solve jigsaw puzzles. Check out this Cronicas Puzzleras article: 10 Surprising Benefits of Doing Puzzles.

They’re also an engaging family activity that can help keep everyone together on cold, rainy days.

Several bookshelves full of board games and puzzles.

Circulation Details

Take a look at the 26 puzzles available to check out for one week here. And just like Board Games, there is a limit of two-per-card, with a possibility of two renewals. Also, they should be returned inside of either building (not in the exterior book drops).

Librarians won’t be counting the returned pieces, but if you check out a puzzle and it turns out there are missing pieces, there is a form in each box to let librarians know. They’ll make note of it in the item’s record, and if/when too many pieces go missing, that puzzle will be retired. You will not be fined for missing pieces.

You may be charged for total loss or major damages to the puzzle, box, labels, etc. Similar to Board Games, minor wear and tear is forgiven, including ripped bags or broken rubber bands.

Connections

As always, don’t hesitate to reach out to a librarian if you have any questions about this or any other aspect of GPL’s collection. Librarians love to make lots of connections with their community – whether it be through books, events, puzzles, or in countless other ways.
