The Overdrive App Is Dead: Long Live Libby!

A big change has come to GPL’s eLibrary: Overdrive is no longer supporting its namesake app. But there’s no need to panic! Libby is now the only app you need to enjoy ebooks, digital audiobooks, and emagazines.

Libby has proven time and again to be the user-friendliest app, and now that Overdrive can focus on a single app, over time it will get better-and-better.

If you’d like help transitioning to Libby, or if you have any questions about this change, then please ask a librarian. We love to help!

Big Library Read: April 4-18

If you caught the Oscars this past weekend, then you were sure to note Questlove’s win for Best Original Documentary. His film Summer of Soul (…Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised) is a powerful experience of music and its relevance to the US during a very tumultuous time. Currently you can watch it on either Hulu or Disney+ but know that it will soon be added to GPL’s collection.

Whether or not you’ve seen this remarkable film, you should take advantage of this year’s Big Library Read – a global book club facilitated by Overdrive – which is Questlove’s Music Is History. This book will be made available April 4th-18th to everyone with the Libby app. There are no wait lists or holds during this time.
