Omaha Children’s Museum Passes Now at GPL
GPL is thrilled to now offer patrons free passes to the Omaha Children’s Museum. This participatory museum provides a variety of exhibits, workshops, programs, and more that help children learn about both themselves and the world. Partnering with the Omaha Children’s Museum means that your child can grow curious and then explore more whether the curiosity begins at the museum or the library.
These activity passes are unlike any others that GPL has, so be sure to read on and learn the particulars of this great new offering.
The Passes
- These passes are treated like other items you check out from the library.
- There are four passes available in total.
- Two passes are available at the Children’s Library, and two passes are at the Main Library.
- The passes can be used once during their checkout, for a single visit for 2 adults (16 years old and older), and up to 6 kids (2-15 years old). Children 0-2 are free.
- No need to reserve a specific day, but you must visit before the pass is due back at the library. Remember: the museum is closed on Mondays.
- The passes are part of a plastic case that makes them harder to lose, and allows them to be returned in a book drop.
General Guidelines
- You must have a physical library card present with an account in good standing in order to check out a museum pass.
- You may check out a pass one-per-household every 30 days.
- Reserve a pass at the location where you would like to pick it up as you may only reserve one-pass-at-a-time.
- Passes are held for five days before they are released to the next patron on reserve.
- The pass must be used within 7 days.
- If you are unable to use the pass during the time your turn in line comes, then speak with a librarian and you can be moved back one week to allow someone else to use the pass, or also be entirely removed from the reservation list.
What to Take
- The pass, in its case.
- The receipt that the librarian will have slipped into the case’s cover.
- Your ID.
- The library card used to check out the activity pass.
Overdue or Lost Passes
- Please promptly return the pass, as the faster it’s returned, the more people can use it.
- If you do not return the pass within the seven days, then your library account will automatically be suspended. The account will not reactivate until the pass is returned.
- If the pass is lost or destroyed, then the charge is $160 + $5 processing fee.
If you have any questions about this exciting new activity pass, then please speak with a librarian.
