Gretna Public Library is pleased to house a nontraditional catalog of more things you can borrow. Yes, you can check out a ukulele, cake pan, a telescope, and more! Scroll on to read more about each of these offerings, or click here to view them directly in the catalog.
All materials from the Library of Things must be returned inside a library building during business hours. Please do not attempt to return these items in a book drop.
Board Games
Try out a new game or revisit a classic with the Library’s collection of board games.

Cake Pans
Bake something special with a variety of cake pans, muffin tins, cookie cutters, and more.

Disc Golf Kits
Try your hand at disc golf at the new Gretna Crossing Park! Each kit comes with 6-12 discs and instructions.

First Aid Kit for Grieving Hearts
Studies show that unresolved grief can lead to poor school performance, sleep difficulties, behavior challenges, illness, criminal activity, and other problems. The Midlands Community Foundation and Ted E. Bear Hollow worked together to make these kits with materials to help grieving young people develop the necessary coping skills to adjust to loss in healthy and socially appropriate ways.
Available for children and teens. Limit 1 each per card.
Pickleball Kits
Have a ball at Gretna’s pickleball courts with a 2- or 4-player kit from the library. Each kit comes with paddles, 3 balls, and a set of instructions.

Check out the night sky! The Omaha Astronomical Society has generously provided and maintains two telescope kits. Keep an eye on the events calendar for star parties.
