Meet the Library Team

The People behind the CIRC DESK

Librarians do more than read and shelve books. Librarians work hard to do everything possible to support their community. Organize resources, provide access, plan programs, support research, maintain records, improve accessibility, promote services, collection manage, and so much more. Discover the dedicated library team who hold GPL’s standards high in order to be the best library for the Gretna community.

Krissy • she/her

Library Director

What book I would be:
Matilda by Roald Dahl, because of how the librarian in the story empowered Matilda to read and learn as much as she could.

Years of public library service: 23

Being a director is a lot like guiding an orchestra through a song- I get to oversee all the individual parts that make up the operation of the library and bring them together in a way that serves the community of Gretna in a meaningful way.
I love what I do and am proud to have served Gretna since 2008.

Rebecca • she/her

Assistant Library Director &
Creative Director

What book I would be:
Small Gods by Terry Pratchett

Years of public library service: 16

I support all of the wonderful GPL librarians. I regularly analyze data, coach others, solve problems, and enjoy puns. Every day brings new challenges, and it’s a great day when I get to share what an amazing team we have at GPL.

Jamie • he/they

Cataloging Librarian

What book I would be:
All of them because I can’t pick a favorite.

Years of public library service: 14

I’m the Cataloging Librarian, which means that I process every single item that goes into the library’s collection, and also mend them when they get injured.

Betty Bunny Loves Chocolate Cake by Michael B. Kaplan & Stéphane Jorisch

Years of public library service: 13

As the Children’s Librarian, I prepare programming for infants through grade 5, as well contribute to collection development and many other projects.

Mr. Fuzzbuster Knows He’s the Favorite by Stacy McAnulty & Edward Hemingway

What book I would be:
The Name of the Wind by P. Rothfuss

Years of public library service: 1

I’m your Adult Services Librarian! You can catch me in any adult program such as book clubs, crafts, and D&D. Stop by the circulation desk at the Main Library and say hi!

What book I would be:
The Book of Catitudes by Cider Mill Press
It is very to the point and I just love cats so much!

Years of public library service: 1

I’m a newer librarian, and so far I love this profession to pieces. I focus on helping where I can. I help prepare many of the things that you see during library events. Also, I’ve begun to help run programs for elementary school-age kiddos!

Gabry she/her

Technical Services Librarian

What book I would be:
The Mona Lisa Vanishes by Nicholas Day

Finding the tale that you’re searching for is something that I do at the Children’s Library as a Technical Services Librarian, whether I’m in the stacks or at the circ desk.

Christina • she/her

Hair Love by Matthew Cherry &
This Could Be Us by Kennedy Ryan

As a Technical Services Librarian at the Children’s Library you can find me circulating good library vibes 24/7/365, and of course helping you and your kiddo find your newest book obsession.

Kirsten • she/her

Library Page

What book I would be:
The Goose Girl by Shannon Hale

Years of public library service: Almost 1

I get to do the job that many people believe that only librarians do: shelve! I’m a life-long library patron and am thrilled to be part of the GPL team.
